In the olden days, banks, building societies and financial institutions represented solidity, security and trust. Logo design reflected that, often being throwbacks to designs or symbols developed hundreds of years ago.The distinctive Black Horse logo of Lloyds TSB for example had its beginnings in 1677 when it was first taken on by Humphrey Stockes, a goldsmith and ‘keeper of the running cashes’. In 1884 Lloyds absorbed the Lombard Street bank of Barnetts, Hoares, Hanbury & Co who had inherited the symbol and this marked the beginning of the bank’s association with the black horse. (more…)

Direct Line has found that a huge number of UK based home businesses are putting thier business on the line by not having the correct business insurance. If you don’t take out the correct business insurance, you could find yourself in trouble if you are unable to trade, therefore not earning money.

We’ve all seen the adverts, whether it’s an opera singer dancing around a coffee shop, or just Peter Jones walking around a multi-storey supermarket, the adverts for price comparison websites just get worse and worse (apart from Compare The Market advert with the meerkats).

It was a couple of years ago now that we saw the first price comparison site TV advert, this was back when they only really dealed with car insurance. However, now time has passed and they’ve discovered that the common UK citizen is very lazy, these websites have opened out into other markets such as credit cards, loans, and even small business insurance.
