Hairdressers, nail parlours and beauty salons seem to be coping reasonably well during this recession.In fact, many salons appear to be prospering.This is no doubt due partly to the feel good factor when most peoples attitude appears to be know what? I deserve a treat.The frequency of visits to the salon may have declined, but they dont appear to have entirely dried up, unlike eating out for example.Another factor must be the fact that owners and managers have got back in touch with the realities of running their business with many salon owners looking at their figures on a daily basis.This fiscal discipline is proving very effective, recession or no recession.
Increasing financial awareness extends not just to measures like reducing the number of missed appointments by emailing or texting reminders to clients, but dictates how prudent the salon owner must be to safeguard his or her livelihood. (more…)

Christmas is a very important time of year for a company and as everything comes to a close for one year you have to be either looking forward to a new year or of course dreading the next. Whatever the case you still need to take care of the company when everyone is away and using something like asset tracking can really help when it comes to looking after things when the boss is out of the office.

Flash is a great little thing that you can have on your site that will in fact make users go “wow that’s pretty cool” perhaps if your lucky, and this will be for the first time users only. Once the first look it will start to get very old very quickly to people and they will start to get a bit annoyed by how long the site is taking to load.
99.9% of the time flash will give you very poor usability disease. (more…)

There are many companies that have suffered closures this year, some bigger than others but what are the reasons behind this?
Woolworths PLC
Well as a former member of the group I must say that I know exactly why the company closed and part of it was indeed down to the poor fixed asset accounting that the company had been doing. Woolies (as the public knew them by) were a huge company and they failed because of the idiots running it. (more…)
